These gels are meant to be used overnight, or for long application periods, in customised trays created by our or your Dentist. What strength of whitening gel should you use?

The gel packs are available in 10% or 16% carbamide peroxide both of which will provide excellent results in just two weeks based on gel application every second/third day. All whitening gel strengths will produce the same whitening results eventually – low strength gels just require more applications whilst higher strength gels will achieve the same result in a shorter time period.

We are all individuals and your teeth will have a natural whiteness level which once achieved cannot be improved upon no matter how much more gel you apply. For some this will be achieved in one pack for others it may take several packs. When you notice no more change - stop and use the remaining gels for maintenance of your new white smile.

So, when choosing the strength of gel you should base it on the sensitivity of your teeth. If you have very sensitive teeth you should use a 10% carbamide peroxide gel and increase the interval between applications to suit the tolerance of your teeth’s sensitivity and your desired comfort. If you do not suffer with tooth sensitivity then try the 16% carbamide peroxide gels.

How to use the carbamide peroxide whitening gel

You can read the read the manufacturers instructions on how to use the carbamide peroxide gel here. Ensure that you clean your teeth with toothpaste prior to application. Brush your teeth without toothpaste after application to remove any remaining gel. Avoid very hot or cold food/drinks in the first hour after application.

Each pack contains 4 x 1.2 ml syringes of 10% Opalescence carbamide peroxide whitening gel.

When storing packs over long periods of time (months) it is best to keep out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Top tip place them in the fridge and they will last until the expiry date with no degredation in performance.
