The clear alternative to metal braces

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a series of invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only.

As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position agreed by you and our dental surgeon.

Invisalign benefits

The obvious advantage of Invisalign over ordinary metal braces is that they are invisible, so if you need to maintain a professional image, then this is the solution for you. In addition the Invisalign aligners can be removed for small periods of time, for eating and cleaning or even a special night out!

  Invisalign Fixed Braces
How does it work? Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without wires or brackets. Fixed braces use wires and brackets to move your teeth into straighter alignment.
Nearly invisible. No. Most fixed braces are noticeable.
Removable during treatment. No. You cannot remove fixed braces until treatment is completed.
Treatment doesn't involve metal that can irritate teeth and gums. No. The metal wires and brackets used can cause mouth irritation.
Allows you to brush and floss normally during treatment. No. Fixed metal braces hinder the ability to reach the entire tooth/gum area when flossing.
Provides a clear defined and virtual treatment plan from the start to the completion of treatment. Although your dental practitioner has a clear defined treatment plan, you will not be able to see what your teeth may look like during and after treatment.

Most importantly Invisalign produces a result for life rather than a quick fix such as veneers or crowns which have to be replaced every 10 years at twice the cost.

Invisalign treatment process

Before your treatment starts we will show you a virtual 3D treatment plan demonstrating the series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of the treatment. This allows you to see upfront what your teeth are expected to like at the end of the treatment.  If you are happy with the intended results we will then have the custom-made, clear aligners produced for you.

You are given a series of Invisalign aligners which are changed every 2 weeks, each of which moves the teeth gently and gradually.

You will need to revisit us every 6-8 weeks for checkups and to pick up your new set of aligners. The average length of time it takes to adjust teeth is around 14 months, even when you are an adult. The treatment is much more gentle than train track braces.
