Forehead wrinkles are one of the most common signs of ageing. Some people get vertical lines between the eyebrows, often called “frown lines”, while others get lines right across the forehead, or if you’re unlucky you end up with both.
Dynamic forehead lines are formed by muscle movement, and are therefore best treated with anti-wrinkle injections that relax the muscle. Anti-wrinkle injections temporarily block or reduce the strength of the nerve impulses that cause the muscle contractions that create the dynamic wrinkles.
At your consultation you can determine whether you want a completely smooth forehead, the "frozen look" or a more youthful "expressive look" that still allows the gentle formation of softer wrinkles.
We recommend the "expressive look" as it is more natural. However, this treatment is about you deciding which wrinkles and lines you want to keep.
As you age the constant repetition in the formation of your dynamic lines may create deep static lines, which are visible even when your forehead is at rest.
Typically static lines appear between your eyebrows in an area called the glabella and often give the unfortunate appearance of you being constantly cross - hence their nickname "frown lines". However, they are easily softened using a dermal filler treatment.
