How does the lumpy, bumpy, orange peel appearance of cellulite occur.  Imagine the underneath your skin as a mesh work of collagen fibres that resemble "fish net stockings”. In the subcutaneous level of your skin, your fat cells are held in place by this fish net stocking. When your fat cells are not "bloated" with water and/or fat, nothing sticks through the threads and everything looks nice.

However, and here is where the drainage problem comes in, when water and/or fat enters the fat cells they bulge. If your metabolism is working correctly then it will make the corrections necessary and drain the area.
