Everyone likes to feel positive in their own bodies, most of us are seeking to go to the gym more, eat healthier and be the best version of ourselves. However, sometimes a little helping hand is needed to sculpt the body of our dreams.
The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure can provide that helping hand by reducing fat pockets that resist efforts of diet and exercise. The results are noticeable and long lasting, so you'll look great from every angle.
However, CoolSculpting is not a solution for everyone - you should be in or close to your ideal BMI (Body Mass Index) range. BMI uses your height and weight to work out if you're a healthy weight, underweight or overweight.
Your BMI result is not perfect - it can't tell if you're carrying too much fat or you've got a lot of muscle. The adult BMI doesn't consider age, gender or muscular build. This means that older adults can have a healthy BMI but still have too much fat. Typically, these people don't lose this fat with moderate diet and exercise, which is exactly where CoolSculpting can help.
Why not use the NHS BMI calculator to check your BMI?
Why CoolSculpting keeps me positive
I have been performing CoolSculpting treatments for over 6 years now and did my advanced training in Barcelona at the start of 2015. A great benefit of doing advanced training is that students practice performing treatments on each other.
Having had treatments, I later went on that year to win two awards (and felt body confident for the awards photographs!). In 2016, I got married and had my son, and now as a busy working mother, I am still body positive. Thanks to CoolSculpting, the fat has not returned to all those troublesome areas.
Could you have CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is suitable for all shapes and sizes, especially if you're living with a healthy diet and lifestyle. Here at the clinic we can assess your body and mark you up for your body transformation. The areas we treat are chest, back, tummy, thighs and arms.
We can sculpt your body and chisel away that unwanted fat, so that you look better in or out of your clothes from every angle. We like to call this "treatment to transformation".
How does fat freezing work?
CoolSculpting freezes macrophages (fat cells), in a controlled and safe cooling method called cryolipolysis. The cryolipolysis destroys the fat cells in your subcutaneous fat tissue and your body's lymphatic drainage removes the dead cells. You can learn more on the CoolSculpting treatment page.
Is CoolSculpting safe?
Yes! CoolSculpting has now been performed over 6 million times world wide, and has 52 clinical studies published.
Please be careful - ONLY CoolSculpting is FDA approved and tested to safely perform cryolipolysis, non FDA approved copy-cat fat freezing machines can cause harm by also killing skin cells, so always check your treatment is being performed by a genuine Zeltiq CoolSculpting machine.
Who should perform fat freezing treatments?
Cryolipolysis is a medical procedure and should only be performed under medical supervision. At the clinic, CoolSculpting consultations are with either a doctor or nurse who can check your medical history and examine your body to check that the areas you want to reduce are treatable fat. If they have concerns about the areas they may refer you onto a GP or specialist to investigate further. If you are a good candidate, then either I or Becky will carry out your treatment plan.
Becky and I are always updating our training and knowledge. Recently, Kristina our CoolSculpting trainer was at the clinic to go through best practice, and lucky Becky got another treatment.
Get positive about your body shape
If you are in or near your healthy BMI range and have some stubborn area of fat annoying you, then why not come in and discuss them with Dr Victoria or nurse Claire to see if CoolSculpting could be a solution for you. If it is, I look forward to seeing you and helping you become as body positive as I am.
Did you know?
The CoolSculpting system has built-in safety measures called "Cool Detect", so if sensors detect that the skin is getting too cold, the system will shut down automatically.
