Let your smile be the envy of friends with a professional teeth whitening kit to whiten teeth, so your smile is always selfie-ready. 1
It's that time of year when you make plans for our summer adventures / holidays and how you are going to lose those extra pounds or get your skin glowing for all those up and coming summer events. One thing you might forget about is your smile.
Almost everyone visiting the clinic now is wanting advice on getting flawless skin and losing a few extra pounds, but few ask about the appearance of their teeth. Yet, your teeth are one of the first things that others see when you greet them. It doesn’t matter how much money you have spent on having your makeup and hair done if your teeth are stained yellow it really isn’t going to give you that WOW factor and will certainly not complete your look. Yellow teeth do not make a sparkling selfie.
30% of British people use whitening toothpaste as part of their daily routine. 14% of people had used tooth whitening strips and kits in the previous month. Mintel June 2014
Whilst whitening toothpaste and strips will make small improvements they are not going to significantly reduce staining from coffee, tea, wine, smoking and foods such as curries.
You’re probably examining your teeth now, but please do not panic. A teeth whitening kit can restore your dazzling white smile in 1-2 weeks. It’s easy and affordable. The essential thing is to do it safely using professional whitening trays after an examination by a dentist.

What is a professional teeth whitening kit?

A teeth whitening kit should contain customised reusable trays for your upper and lower teeth and single use whitening gels.
The design of the tray is very important as the tray needs to fit snugly around your teeth. If it doesn’t, the gel can escape or become diluted. If the tray is not finished correctly, it can also irritate the gums and be very uncomfortable. We take impressions of your teeth and have your trays made by dental technicians in a lab, so you get the highest quality customised trays specific to your teeth.
With the trays we use 3 types of professional whitening gel:
  • 6% Hydrogen Peroxide – strongest, fastest whitening gel worn for 30-60 minutes at a time.
  • 16% Carbamide Peroxide – more comfortable to wear than 6% HP but slower, so worn for 2-4 hours.
  • 10% Carbamide Peroxide – most comfortable for people with sensitive teeth but slowest, so worn overnight for 6-8 hours.
The great thing about having personalised trays is that you can whiten your teeth whenever you feel they need a freshen up. Our kits give you peace of mind that you are in safe experienced hands.

How can I get trays?

First step, is for Dr Victoria to check your dentition and ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you. Seh will explain how to use the trays. Dr Victoria can do this during your consultation or review.
Dr Victoria will then refer you to me for a 15 minute appointment to take alginate impressions of your teeth from which the laboratory will make your customised trays. I have a specialised qualification in taking these impressions, so you can be confident you are going to get the very best results.
I send the impressions to a laboratory where a skilled dental technician will replicate your teeth and create your very own personalised whitening trays that will last for years. The turn around for getting your personalised trays, to start using at home, is 7 working days. YES, it is that easy.
A customized tray kit costs £199, and between now and 30 June 2018 you will get a complimentary set of 4 teeth whitening gels worth £40 when you order you trays – enough to complete your first whitening treatment.
Having whiter teeth immediately boosts your confidence and makes you want to smile, so ensure it is part of your summer preparation. Don’t be smile envy – be selfie ready!
