What Works For My Menopausal Skin

As you go through menopause, your oestrogen levels decline causing accelerated collagen loss and skin ageing. I would know - I've been in the menopausal club now for five years now and am just about out the other side! I've survived the many symptoms including hot flushes, feeling a bit teary and being a bit snappy at times. However, one side effect of the menopause is that I now notice my skin to be dry, dull and lacking that youthful appearance.

I've tried a lot of well-known night creams over the past five years but never really noticed a difference. When I was invited to trial the new Emepelle night cream, which has been specially formulated to treat menopausal skin ageing, I jumped at the chance.

How does it work?

Emepelle night cream contains a host of active ingredients including retinol, skin enhancing niacinamide, peptides, hyaluronic acid and unique MEP technology. And for those wondering what MEP is, it's a revolutionary advancement in skin science which addresses the collagen loss that occurs during menopause, restoring hydration, brightness and firmness to the skin. All these active ingredients are tailored to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, even your skin tone and hydrate your skin, resulting in a radiant, healthy glow.

So...let's give it a go!

The cream comes in a 50g jar and includes a small spoon - enough to hold a pea-sized amount of product - which makes it easy to apply the correct amount.  I really liked this about the product as often it's so easy to overuse a product; the handy spoon means there's no chance of overloading your skin and no waste (win win!)

After my evening cleanse, I applied the cream to my face and neck with light upward sweeping motions as advised. At first, my skin felt a bit tingly but this soon passed and it was easily absorbed, leaving no residue. I especially loved the rich luxurious texture - it really does feel lovely on the skin. Since I've tried quite a few night creams before, I had a few reservations about whether this would work as well as it claimed to and whether I would notice a difference. But as they say, "the proof is in the pudding", and so it was time to get some beauty sleep and leave the cream to do it's job.

The results?

My skin did feel a bit sensitive after week two but soon settled by week three. My skin feels so soft and smooth when I apply it at night and the softness is still there by the next morning.  I've definitely noticed an improvement in my skin - it looks more vibrant, brighter and firmer now.

What I loved about this cream is that it does the job of multiple products and so it really is excellent value for money. Coupled with the fact that I was really pleased with the results, I would definitely recommend the Emepelle Night Cream as part of your menopausal skincare regime,

Enjoy your new amazing look!
