As you age, your skin's hyaluronic acid and collagen diminish reducing its' volume and elasticity. The loss in volume and elasticity result in the formation of lines, wrinkles and folds in your skin. The more mobile areas of your face are the first to be affected by this natural ageing process. Your skin eventually begins to sag, and expressive wrinkles and permanent folds start to appear.
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments used to replenish your skin's lost hyaluronic acid to soften facial lines and revolumise hollow areas. They can also be used to augment the appearance of your face.
We use Juvederm, Belotero and Restylane dermal fillers due to their high safety standards, quality and long lasting results. Just like the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin the manufactured hyaluronic acid in these fillers is eventually absorbed by your body which means these filler treatments are not permanent.
What can dermal fillers treat?
Fillers can be used for a huge range of aesthetic interventions including:
Restoring or enhancing lip volume.
Softening facial lines and folds.
Filling under eye hollows.
Chin and jaw augmentation.
Restoring volume to cheeks.
Non-surgical nose reshaping.
Reducing acne scarring.
What are the benefits of filler treatments?
Non-permanent, so you will continue to age naturally and not be stuck with an appearance frozen in time.
The filler ranges we use have over 20 years clinical evidence and a strong safety record.
Filler treatments provide immediate results with no scars.
If you do not like your new look the treatment can be reversed.
The procedure is quick with minimum discomfort and downtime.
Filler treatments can be combined with anti-wrinkle injections, Silhouette Soft and Ultherapy treatments to achieve complete facial rejuvenation.
How many filler treatments do you need?
Typically you only need a single treatment for one area with results lasting 6-24 months depending on the filler product used. Dermal filler procedures take between 30-60 minutes depending on the area being treated. If you are on a combination treatment plan then you may be required to attend multiple appointments. Your treatment includes a complimentary review 14-28 days after the filler procedure where any adjustments can be made, at the practitioner's discretion, in order to achieve the outcome agreed at consultation.
What downtime can you expect?
Most clients do not experience any downtime and immediately continue their work or social engagements. However, everyone is unique and you may experience redness at the injection points which will clear in 1-2 hours and swelling or bruising which may take to 2-14 days to resolve. You can cover up any skin discolouration with makeup 12 hours after your procedure.
Post treatment you should avoid extreme temperatures, swimming pools, spas and saunas for 48 hours. For lip treatments you should also avoid kissing, smoking and applying lipstick or lip gloss for 48 hours.
The dermal fillers we use have a strong safety record, are FDA approved, and regulated by the Medicines & Health Regulatory Authority (MHRA) in the UK. At your consultation your practitioner will discuss all risks associated with your treatment plan so you can make an informed decision. The most common side effects are temporary redness, swelling or bruising. In rare cases the filler may form lumps under the skin which may need to be treated with medication. In extremely rare cases filler application may block a blood vessel which if untreated could lead to skin damage, blindness or pulmonary embolism.
